Where to put your poster
Most lost cats are found close to home, often within a few houses. Put posters up near where your cat was last seen, at eye level, where people stop: kiosks, bus stops, bakeries, vets and pet shops. Ask before putting one up in a shop.
Then share the image in local Facebook and WhatsApp groups. Neighbours are your best search party.
Lost your cat? Do this first
| Search close by | Scared cats hide nearby and stay silent. Check sheds, garages and under cars a few houses each side. |
|---|---|
| Go out at night | Search when it’s quiet, with a torch, and call softly. |
| Call around | Vets, shelters, and the microchip registry if it’s chipped. |
| Put out its smell | Its litter tray or bedding by the door can help it find home. |
